Families can be faced with tough choices when money is so tight that paying for everyday essentials such as food and energy is a struggle. It means things like new school shoes have to take a back seat.

At the Coventry Children’s Boot Fund we work to make sure children don’t have to go to school with worn out shoes or ones which are too small because their family can’t afford to buy the next size up.

By providing a desperately needed pair of new school shoes we can release funds for other necessities and help get a child enjoy their time in the classroom – improving their self-esteem and life chances.
Many supermarkets have worked hard to bring down the price of school uniforms. They are also available to buy second hand. But school shoes have to fit properly if a child is to join in with friends in the classroom and not be distracted by shoes which pinch their feet during lessons.
